Last Friday, I arrived with a full on head cold and recovering from the previous day's stomach bug and missed AP English test, but regardless I had work to do. I spent the day creating and copying surveys into the app Polldaddy for markets in Northern California, New York, New Orleans, Texas, and Colorado. With help from Noah, the School Marketing Manager, by providing all of menus for these markets, I made sure all the menu items were entered in correctly for lunch and supper, and for each individual day through the rest of May. Before starting this project, I thought it would take me an hour at most, but it ended up taking me several. A lot of repetition, but by the end, it went quickly. When I was through with entering in the survey's I created an excel spread sheet where all of these results will be entered for all markets and then uploaded it to GoogleDocs. Pretty cool! I was the one who was creating the place for these markets across the country with people I had never met, but suddenly in contact through email with, will enter their data and use it for future menu planning and success of Revolution Foods.
After that, I had a meeting with my main supervisor, Jyothi, the Brand Director about how the week went, what I learned and accomplished, and what my projects are for this week. It was a very helpful meeting and it gave me a lot of confidence in all the research I'll be doing this week. I was went home in attempts to get this cold out of my system. When I got home, I started on a little bit of research and called it a week.
I felt very productive by then end of Friday and felt like I did a very good job of being a sponge and soaking up all the information I possibly could. I learned a lot from a marketing prospective on how to improve a brand, what is most effective in reaching out to different age groups, and effective ways to get ahead of the game. I'm looking forward to working more independently this week on my research projects.
